1. With the Travel Conference at Dunchurch still fresh in many minds, we are looking for some great 'Travelogues' from you. Through the summer holidays many of you will be on holiday, in this country, in Europe, or even further afield. Use the art of the travel writer, look beyond the obvious, watch what your fellow holidaymakers get up to, give us the scenery, the atmosphere.....but try and come at it from your own angle!!

We will be looking for that different approach, see things from your own unique perspective. Put your pieces into 'Writers House' (non-fiction) entitled 'Travelogue' with your own sub title; the two best pieces received by early September will win one of our awards (£20 book or gift voucher) to be presented at the PHMe 'Oscars' on the 9th of November. Plus, you never know, if they are that good, they might be nominated for an 'Oscar' in their own right!!

2. Roy Mitchell is the creator, writer and producer of 'New Tricks' for the BBC, the new series of which is shortly to be screened. Roy will be at the 'Oscars' in November to present an 'Oscar' for the best screenplay, but to do that he needs some screenplays to appear on the site. They do not have to be overly long, it may be the idea that you have or an outline of your script might be enough....if it's really original. Interesting characters, lively dialogue, a different plot...these will be the key elements in Roy choosing his final list of four. Fancy a career in script writing, I know Roy was very impressed with the writing he saw last year...from pupils as young as 9 and 10!! Again, you never know......
