train to collage

just a short piece . Submitted by Amy (Award 319), age 17

Legs stiff and complaining.
bag heavy, shoulder dipping
feet twisting, like a wrung out cloth.

Quiet chatter comes from all around the train, who did what, what happened with this bike...drifting around like currents as people begin to wake up.

As we cross the bridge, I look out over the white expanse of land. so pretty. So gentle. the sun rising in all its pink and blue glory.

Train brakes. the pressure is put down. the land around the carriages slows.

"Three Bridges Station" finally. It starts to snow again. I look across the platform with disgust, as my connecting train pulls out of the station.

user comment Alice says: It's a good effort, Amy, but I wanted to hear more of it... and maybe in a little bit more detail. Apart from that, it's a really good piece of work, well done Amy!
